Speaking about the cuisine, tell us a little about Grenadian cuisine.

Well, most people know Grenada as the “Island of Spice.” It almost has a literal meaning, as there are more spices in Grenada per square mile than any other place in the world! Cloves, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, cocoa, and more grow in abundance here, but nutmeg is the country’s biggest export and most popular spice. Grenada’s national dish, Oildown, is a medley of the island’s best seasonings and flavors, including fresh coconut milk, dumplings, chicken (or meat of choice), onions, dasheen, celery, chive, thyme, turmeric, and breadfruit. So delicious!

What is something interesting you found out about the island or the people since you arrived?  

The rich and unique history of the island, natural beauty, lakes, rivers and waterfalls that spread throughout the island is simply amazing and leaves you totally relaxed and rejuvenated. Grenadians are naturally warm and friendly and always willing and eager to answer questions or lend a hand. They are truly hospitable and want visitors to feel at home and enjoy the magnificence of their island.
