Sandals Resorts Heats Up The Culinary Competition, According to New York Daily News

April 08, 2014 - Sandals Resorts - Dining

New York Daily News is taking notice of some all-inclusive resorts that are changing the name of the game when it comes to the culinary vacation experience. Focusing not only on quantity of offerings when it comes to number of restaurants or choices at the buffet, but more so on quality of dining experiences and gourmet cuisine.

It’s no wonder that the resort company that founded its brand on the Luxury Included® concept has made its stamp on this hot travel trend. Sandals Resorts’ latest Discovery Dining program exemplifies what raising the bar in the culinary realm is all about, from bringing in world-renowned chefs such as Walter Staib to serve as Culinary Ambassador for Sandals Resorts International, to offering unforgettable unique dining experiences. With 140 restaurants bringing18 unique culinary concepts and styles to life, Sandals features cuisine from every corner of the planet, along with new sights, sounds and tastes that make each meal memorable and delicious.

As New York Daily News writer Alex Palmer puts it, rather than “offering generic ‘Italian’ cuisine, as it once had, each of Sandals’ Italian restaurant brands now specialize in a specific region of the country, incorporating its particular ingredients and culinary approach into the menu. Fine Italian restaurant Armando’s offers dishes from the Campania region, such as Spaghetti Puttanesca (with anchovies, olives and caper) or M’pepatella Di Cozze (mussels with parsley and lemon), in addition to an expansive anti-pasti bar.”

Discovery Dining does not only focus on what you eat, but what you drink as well. Alex continues, “Each restaurant also now has its own signature cocktail, such as the Rosemary Gin Fizz (gin, honey, lime juice, soda and rosemary) as well as a Manager’s List wine selection. Reflecting the brand's Jamaican roots, it is also offering Appleton’s Rum at all its properties and Blue Mountain Coffee in all its rooms.”
