My husband and I stayed at the Royal Caribbean Resort in Montego Bay Jamaica for our honeymoon in November. We had a luxury honeymoon suite with butler service. This was our first trip to a sandals resort and our very first trip out of the country. Upon arriving at the airport in Jamaica, we were escorted to the Sandals lounge and were greeted with the friendliest individuals we have ever met. The shuttle ride took no longer than 10 minutes, and the staff on the shuttle kept us entertained while we were on board. Once we arrived at the resort, we were taken into the "Club Sandals" room while we waited for our room to be prepared and for our butler to come get us. We had 2 butlers during our 5 day stay. Monique was with us for one day - and she was very helpful and nice. Sherry Ann was with us for the remainder of our stay - and we absolutely adored her. She went above and beyond the call of duty. At the main pool, there are 2 bartenders that kept us laughing - Kevoun and Tremaine. Although, Kevoun was there everyday - and we had a blast with him. He even remembered our names every day! HE IS AWESOME! Warren was definitely entertaining at the main pool. He is great at getting guests engaged with dancing and games. He was even dancing and got int the pool a couple of times! This resort has a private island - which is very nice if you are looking for a place a bit more quiet or intimate. The bartender on the island is Owen. He is polite and professional. The jerk shack is on the island and it is delicious! Actually, all the food that we had while on the resort was phenomenal!!! We took a day trip to the Montego Bay resort near the airport - and we were not impressed. It is definitely geared towards a younger crowd. It is also very loud - since it backs to the airport. The only thing worth mentioning about this resort is that we saw Guy Fieri there when we went! (The shuttle staff told the guests that the MB resort was known for being the "party" resort, and know we understand why.) The Royal Caribbean resort is much nicer, more relaxing, beautifully landscaped and everyone is always pleasant. We enjoyed our stay and we plan to go back. Truth be told, we were sad to leave. Not only because the place is beautiful, but the staff kinda grow on you! Its true when they say that when you are there you kinda become family. I would highly recommend this resort!!!! :)
We had an amazing week at this resort staying in a club level mini suite with balcony tub. The service was fantastic, particularly from the concierge team. Special mention must go to Marcus and Mary who, when my husband asked where he might find frangipani as they are my favourite flowers, put them in my room to surprise me! I did the resort scuba qualification and Simeon was a brilliant teacher, so calm and reassuring. Petal came on a snorkelling trip and greeted me by name a few days later, very impressive for a trainee. Sparkle in the spa was fantastic too - we had a couples massage in a pergola next to the beach and I had a facial too. All restaurants were lovely and the private candlelit dinner was superb. We definitely want to go back - for longer this time!
My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Ochi and we had the best time! We were there a total of 12 nights and couldn't have been more pleased with our room, the wonderful staff, restaurants, the entertainment crew, the lovely sights... I hope I'm not forgetting anything! This is a location we'd definitely love to visit again. Such a memorable time there!
Our vacation was amazing. We had the best experience on our honeymoon. Our butlers were the nicest, kindest people we could have ever asked for. Moria and Shanea were our butlers and they treated us very well. They had fun and exciting personalities. They were very attentive and always surprised us with items or things in our room. They were the best!!! We also wanted to send a shout out to Cruise. He was the best waiter we had on the Island. He was a waiter at Kelly's Dockside restaurant. Great Personality and provided a good experience. Ochi is the place to be to experience the excellent Dining and the fun environment.
We recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the Halcyon Beach resort in Saint Lucia. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for! The accommodations at the Halcyon were excellent, the grounds immaculate, the food fantastic, and the staff was exceptional. We opted for the helicopter transfer (my wife gets motion sickness when driving) and the views were worth the price of admission! From the minute we arrived on the grounds we were pampered. From the check-in glass of champagne and cold towel (it was HOT) to the bartenders, watersports staff and service personnel, we were always greeted with a warm smile. Whenever we asked for anything the response was "No Worries, No Problem". We loved taking the Hobie Cat's out on the sea! I took advantage of the scuba training and went on 1 dive. We only did one excursion and would recommend the Joe Knows tour (land & sea). The guides were entertaining and the activities were worth it. The lunch was very good and the views of the Pitons was breath taking. We especially enjoyed the snorkeling. The slow boat ride home (music and rum punch) was "entertaining." We got to meet a bunch of other couples that we ran into throughout the week. Halcyon is a much quieter resort than the Grand or La Toc. If your looking for lots of activities and a big social atmosphere than I'd recommend one of the other resorts. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax with your sweetheart than the Halcyon is the place for you! The food was really good and we dined at Kelly's twice and Mario's twice. Kimino's was a unique experience that you should definitely reserve when you arrive (requires reservations). Be sure to order the "Bob Marley" while at the Halcyon (you can't get it at the other resorts). We took day trips to the Grand and La Toc and although their pools were awesome, they were much more crowded and the staff didn't seem quite as friendly as at the Halcyon. Plus, you're kinda living out of a day-bag you packed and are limited to the shuttles that leave for your resort about every two hours so you have to plan ahead to know when it's time to leave to get back for dinner (since your in your swim suite and can't really change easily into evening attire). We hiked up Pigeon Island ($7 USD) which was a nice break. I've never had a bad experience with Sandals and we booked our next years stay.
our stay was outstanding, very nice ambience & cheerful staff, specially the Cubans that work in entertainment(Elio, Jarsey, Nany, Liz, Conie & Ary) the Live Guard at BCLUB, very polite & helpful, Ramon at the Italian restaurant was impressive, at Sky restaurant Monique Kelly couldn't be better. It was truly a dream vacation, we'll definitely do it again, special mention to all the bartenders & water spots crew. Keep on the good work.
