We recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the Halcyon Beach resort in Saint Lucia. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for! The accommodations at the Halcyon were excellent, the grounds immaculate, the food fantastic, and the staff was exceptional. We opted for the helicopter transfer (my wife gets motion sickness when driving) and the views were worth the price of admission! From the minute we arrived on the grounds we were pampered. From the check-in glass of champagne and cold towel (it was HOT) to the bartenders, watersports staff and service personnel, we were always greeted with a warm smile. Whenever we asked for anything the response was "No Worries, No Problem". We loved taking the Hobie Cat's out on the sea! I took advantage of the scuba training and went on 1 dive. We only did one excursion and would recommend the Joe Knows tour (land & sea). The guides were entertaining and the activities were worth it. The lunch was very good and the views of the Pitons was breath taking. We especially enjoyed the snorkeling. The slow boat ride home (music and rum punch) was "entertaining." We got to meet a bunch of other couples that we ran into throughout the week. Halcyon is a much quieter resort than the Grand or La Toc. If your looking for lots of activities and a big social atmosphere than I'd recommend one of the other resorts. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax with your sweetheart than the Halcyon is the place for you! The food was really good and we dined at Kelly's twice and Mario's twice. Kimino's was a unique experience that you should definitely reserve when you arrive (requires reservations). Be sure to order the "Bob Marley" while at the Halcyon (you can't get it at the other resorts). We took day trips to the Grand and La Toc and although their pools were awesome, they were much more crowded and the staff didn't seem quite as friendly as at the Halcyon. Plus, you're kinda living out of a day-bag you packed and are limited to the shuttles that leave for your resort about every two hours so you have to plan ahead to know when it's time to leave to get back for dinner (since your in your swim suite and can't really change easily into evening attire). We hiked up Pigeon Island ($7 USD) which was a nice break. I've never had a bad experience with Sandals and we booked our next years stay.
our stay was outstanding, very nice ambience & cheerful staff, specially the Cubans that work in entertainment(Elio, Jarsey, Nany, Liz, Conie & Ary) the Live Guard at BCLUB, very polite & helpful, Ramon at the Italian restaurant was impressive, at Sky restaurant Monique Kelly couldn't be better. It was truly a dream vacation, we'll definitely do it again, special mention to all the bartenders & water spots crew. Keep on the good work.
We got to La Source late that night, but our initial greeting was awesome. We were greeted with a warm friendly smile and hello and then escorted to out room. We entered the room and it was filled with candles and flower pedals. That made the whole long flight and waiting for our room worth it. The next morning we woke to the warm sunshine and the smile of food floating through the air. La Source looked exactly like the photo's on the Sandals website. SO beautiful and relaxing. We stayed for 10 days and each day brought a new adventure and experience that my wife and I truly enjoyed. Once Again that's to the staff and the beautiful Island of Grenada. This was our third trip to Sandals Resorts and it keeps getting better each year. Were really forward to our next trip to the Royal Bahamian in the Bahamas. Thanks Sandals you guys rock
Feb 2010 we went to Sandals LaToc and met Mr Michael James. He was very cordial, professional and made sure all his guests truly enjoyed their stay. While we were visiting Sandals LaSource in Grenada Feb 2015 we happened to see him as he was there for a meeting. We hadn't seen him in five years and were not only surprised to see him, but even more amazed that he actually remembered our names. Think we will try to go back to see this fantastic resort as well as to see Mr. Michael James again. Sandals really hires very special GM's.
This was our first stay in a Sandals resort and it was an amazing experience! Our daughter got married there and the staff was truly wonderful! The resort is spot on in beauty, food, and flowers but it is their staff that put this resort over the top! There are a few names I remembered and would like to give them credit, but there were so many that I didn't remember. Marcia and her assistant were amazing to take care of the wedding planning. They were delightful! Geneve ,Rowan, and the young lady who did the manicures and foot massage, and the Desirees in the Jewelry shoppe , Kavel and Earla, are the few I can name! I must say all the staff greeted us everyday.LOVED IT!Thanks!
I could not be more pleased with our choice of this resort. This was a fantastic trip! The scenery is some of the most beautiful you could ever see. There is literally something for everyone here! The butler's take such good care of you. The food is amazing, the cocktails are strong, the service is outstanding, and the resort is STUNNING! The Rabbit Hole was one of our favorite places to visit while here. The bartenders there (Ricardo and Dominic, I think?) are some of the friendliest people we met the whole time there. Snorkeling was awesome! We had a private candlelight dinner our last night there which was the perfect way to end our honeymoon. There were people walking between the different sections where other couples were and I thought that was kind of rude, but still a very awesome experience. All and all I don't have much of anything negative to say about this place, except that I had to leave and come home! I highly recommend this to any one looking for the perfect honeymoon/anniversary getaway..We are already planning our trip back next year!
