SAFETY AND SECURITY
at Sandals Resorts
At Sandals Resorts, there is nothing more important than the safety and security of our guests. In fact, it’s our top priority. To that effect, we understand the importance of communication and accurate information.
safety and
security standards
Our resorts are among the safest operating in the Caribbean. Here are some of the ways we achieve our industry-leading safety and security standards:
Best-In-Class Methods
Our robust policies, technology infrastructure, and employee training and security are routinely evaluated so that they reflect best-in-class methods in the locations where we operate.
Law Enforcement Input
We collaborate with and seek input from various government and local law enforcement resources, including the US embassy and other diplomatic missions.
Background Checks
As part of our ongoing efforts, we take steps that go beyond the industry standard, including the number of background checks we do on prospective employees, continuous upgrades and trainings that focus on on boarding and soft skills at each location.
Zero-Tolerance Policy
We have a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct by our personnel, whether on or off the resort, and we have a zero-tolerance policy for fraternization by our personnel with guests. Beyond this, we have long worked with various other government and law enforcement resources to inform our policies and share our best practices and information about our own efforts to help others in the industry.
State-Of-The-Art Surveillance
We have State-of-the-art Close Circuit Television Surveillance Systems, which are monitored 24 hours a day by our security personnel and are industry-leading in the Caribbean.
On-Site Security
There are comprehensive access control systems, and our on-site uniformed security personnel receive extensive training. Local authorities also visit our resorts to ensure our security protocols are properly deployed, and we obtain input from third-party security specialists.
Employee Training
We invest heavily in our hiring process and in employee training and oversight to ensure employees understand our policies and our high expectations.
Comprehensive Evaluations
Each prospective employee undergoes a comprehensive background check, with the assistance of local law enforcement, which includes a criminal record search as well as a comprehensive evaluation of the prospective employee’s social/online history.
Mandatory Trainings
All employees undergo mandatory trainings and safety lectures provided by our security team on a regular basis.
Guest Feedback
Our management teams at each resort maintain contact with guests through programs like “TLC,” through which senior managers contact an assigned quota of guests to reach out to on a daily basis to gain feedback.
