There’s something to do for everyone in the Golden State, which is why you should visit at least once, especially if you’re looking for somewhere warm to spend the holiday season. Your adventure can start by turning the heat all the way up in a place like Death Valley in Los Angeles, which is quite literally one of the hottest places in the Northern Hemisphere. It has four UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Bahla Fort which sits at the base of the Jebel Akhdar Mountain Range. Also, the Archaeological site of Bat, Al-Khutm and Al-Ayn dating from the Bronze Age features towers, houses, and an ancient burial ground all of which are part of a World Heritage Site. While in Oman, take some time to visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and the Nakhal Fort which houses a museum and a goat market every week which is popular with visitors and locals.
